Ford is one of the biggest manufacturers of first responder vehicles in America, and it is constantly looking to improve the performance of those vehicles. Following recent tests, it appears Ford’s engineering investment in its first responder vehicles has paid off with powerful dividends.
Ford collaborated with both the Michigan State Police Department and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to assist the automaker in measuring the effectiveness of its recent performance optimizations to the 2021 F-150 Police Responder through operational testing. After analyzing the results of both organization’s tests, it is clear that the F-150 Police Responder is deserving of its title as the only pursuit-rated pickup in America.
The Michigan State Police Department’s testing revealed that the 2021 F-150 Police Responder is capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 MPH in 5.4 seconds, making the latest iteration of the pursuit vehicle 1.2 seconds speedier than its predecessor. Notable, the 2021 F-150 Police Responder is nearly half a second quicker to 60 MPH than any of the other competitor vehicles tested. The vehicle, which has a top speed of 120 MPH, also managed a 0 – 100 MPH time of just 13.12 seconds.
